Experienced Nature Based Occupational Therapist
Cherise Basques, MS, OTR/L has 17 years of experience working with children and teens in farm, clinic, home and school settings. She incorporates a play based, exploratory approach with the joy of being outdoors. She believes that when kids want to go to therapy and learn through play they gain the most skills!

Nature provides a variety of sensory experiences, allowing for children to process and regulate through outdoor play.

Children work and play side by side or work together for craft projects, sensory play and going through obstacles courses.

Develop skills through programs such as The Zones of Regulation. Farm animals make wonderful metaphors for responding to emotions.

Children work on fine motor skills through activities like nature crafts, digging with small shovels. They work on gross motor and motor planning by doing obstacle courses going on nature walks.
